Jesus, The Good Shepherd – John 10:1-15

By March 6, 2017Uncategorized

When we look through Scripture, particularly in the New Testament,we find numerous references to ideas about shepherding and sheep as a way of talking about Jesus and his church. In John 10, Jesus contrasts himself as “The Good Shepherd” from the religious leaders of his day who were in it for status, wealth, or prestige. He makes the case that in him, we are protected by the best shepherd that ever was, and that he demonstrates his love to us undeniably by having chosen to lay down his life for his sheep – that he died for us, whom he loves, with nothing less than his full self.
